Melt composition changed with every heat because recycled steel was used and lab results adjusted additives. Power and fuel per batch went unrecorded, so true casting cost was unknown.
What we built
An Odoo 18 Community app with a dynamic melt BOM set at melting time, a simple shop-floor entry screen, power and fuel capture per batch, a pour step linking each heat to its casting orders, and batch-wise consumption reports.
Outcome
Batch-level material and energy cost, traceable from heat to casting.
